Commercial certificate courses
Our students are guaranteed a high level of education that combines traditional classroom teaching with practical training. All courses are intense, of short duration and held regularly to provide time and cost benefits to the students. Completion of a maritime course can lead to an AMSA Certificate of Competency.
Maritime training courses are conducted under the auspices of Sea School International - Registered Training Organisation 91732. First Aid courses are conducted under the auspices of PATTA RTO 30270. Sea School Jervis Bay are approved trainers and assessors providing training on the NSW South Coast.
Courses
General Purpose Hand
Train as a Deckhand and undertake a wide range of maritime work at sea and around the waterfront in communications, seamanship, logistics, tourism, and hospitality; help re-build a marina or discover your potential with an environmental group. With further training and experience, you could become a shipmaster.
Course Duration
All courses are intense and of short duration to provide time and cost benefits to the students.

- Course duration is 5 days fulltime or over 2 weekends (dates on application)

Certificate I in Maritime Operations
(Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal)
If you have a passion for driving boats, why not get paid for it? The marine industry needs a competent crew to transport guests and cargo and to provide services, labour and contracts on the waterfront and on the coast.
Course Duration
All courses are intense, of short duration and include a sea service requirement.

- Long Range Radio Operators Course carries an additional charge

Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 NC)
If you have a passion for driving boats why not get paid for it? The marine industry needs competent crew to transport guests and cargo and to provide services, labour and contracts on the waterfront and on the coast. A Coxswain can take control of a ferry, water taxi, jet boat, yacht, catamaran, tourism or catering vessel and a variety of work boats.
Course Duration
All courses are intense, of short duration and include a sea service requirement

Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master < 24m Near Coastal)
The Australian passenger vessel fleet is as vibrant and varied as any around the world and has a role for you that will take you places; from work vessels, barges, small tugs and city ferries, to high-speed catamarans.
Master <24 commands coastal trading vessels under 24 meters in length in designated near offshore waters. They co-ordinate the activities of crew members, and oversee the safe operation of the vessel at sea, at anchor, and in port. With experience you could become a sought-after Master, transporting along the Australian coastline, carrying cargo or commanding a commercial fishing vessel.

Certificate III in Maritime Operations
(Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal)
Marine Engine Drivers work in the engine room of a vessel and are in charge of the operation and maintenance of motorised equipment on small commercial vessels. Modern vessel engines are complex and technologically advanced.
This course will teach you how to confidently operate and maintain main and auxiliary machinery and electronics and is the starting point if you’re seeking a career within the Maritime sector as a Marine Engineer (Class 2).

First Aid Courses and Advanced Resuscitation/Oxygen Administration
First Aid and Oxygen Administration courses have been designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to respond in emergency situations at work, in the home or during recreational activities.Accidents, illness and injury occur every day in the home, workplace and at play. Some people may need a helping hand, whilst others may suffer serious or permanent injury if they are not given the right response. By mastering first aid skills including CPR and oxygen administration you will be confident you have the skills to render important care to those in need
